Dryer Vent Inspection:
AALPS Dryer Vent Cleaning includes a free inspection of the dryer exhaust system with each dryer vent cleaning. Annual inspections verify that the components are free of obstruction, airtight, without deterioration and consist of suitable components that are compliant with building code standards. Dryer Ductwork Consists of Three Parts: 1)The transition duct: Connects the dryer to the internal ductwork.  2)The internal ductwork: Portion of the dryer exhaust that goes out from the laundry room to the dryer exhaust termination.3)The dryer exhaust termination: Connects the internal ductwork to the outside of your home.

The Inspection Process Includes:
Transition Duct: Inspected for optimal length, absence of sags, intact seals, and rigid or semi-rigid metal construction. If space is limited, a UL-approved transition duct is used. Plastic or vinyl hoses are removed due to fire risk.

Internal Dryer Ductwork:
Checked for routing through walls, floors, or ceilings, and constructed of rigid, smooth metal. If routed through the attic, additional checks for support, integrity, and obstruction are performed.

Roof Penetrations:
Verified for correct level with the roof jack to prevent lint backflow and absence of obstructive metal grates.

Dryer Exhaust Termination:
Inspected for completeness, functionality, and lack of obstruction. The cover is removed to check for proper outflow.

Bird or Pest Guard:
If installed, it is removed and inspected.

Dryer Outlet and Dryer Lint Trap:
Checked for lint and debris.

Vent Boosters or Power Ventilators:
Inspected for functionality. Additional costs will apply due to extra maintenance required.

Dryer Vent Cleaning:

Step 1: Before the cleaning process begins each dryer exhaust component is thoroughly inspected.

Step 2: The transition duct is detached from the back of the dryer outlet and the wall duct opening and vacuumed clean.

Step 3: A blower is attached to the dryer duct opening in the laundry room in order to locate the dryer exhaust termination. It may be located on a wall or on the roof.

Step 4: The rotating brush is attached to fiberglass rods to extend it and clean both sides of the dryer ductwork. In other words we will clean from the inside of your laundry room out and from the outside of your home into the laundry room.

Step 5: We will vacuum the inside of the dryer outlet opening, the ventilation slats on the back dryer panel and the dryer lint housing.

Step 6: We will clean up lint from the laundry room floor that may have escaped.

Step 7: We will reattach the transition duct ensuring an intact seal and reinstall the dryer vent termination hood and cover.

Step 8: After the cleaning is complete, the dryer is turned on to make sure there is good airflow.  You will be notified of any needed repairs or parts that need replacement, as well as any extra charges.

Dryer Vent Repair Services:

AALPS Dryer Vent Cleaning, provides individualized dryer vent repairs tailored to address specific issues.

We will promptly inform you of any necessary repairs or replacement parts, along with any additional charges.

Common problems that require attention according to building code standards include:
Plastic or vinyl transition hoses will need replacement.

Sags in the transition duct or in the internal dryer exhaust which cause condensation.
Faulty installations which cause lint dispersal or lint accumulation.
Lack of an airtight seal in the ductwork.
Damaged components in the dryer exhaust system.

Dryer Vent Installation:
We can install a new dryer vent for a laundry room remodel or for a new home that is compliant with international building code standards.

Dryer Vent Rerouting:
Sometimes, during an inspection we will find that your dryer vent installation is not compliant with building code standards or is poorly planned. This can affect your dryer's performance and create points of lint accumulation. Depending on your dryer manufacturer instructions, we can re-route your dryer exhaust system to decrease the risk of fire and to maximize your dryer's performance.

Dryer Hose Replacement and Clamp Replacement:

If the transition hose is not UL approved, if it's damaged or its clamp does not provide a good seal we will replace it to create an airtight dryer exhaust system.

Bird Guard Installation and Pest Guard Installation:
Your dryer vent is sometimes chosen by wildlife as a cozy place to build a nest. We install commercial pest guards to prevent birds and rodents from blocking your dryer vent. Be aware that bird or pest guards will need extra vigilance on your part to keep them free of lint.

Fire Extinguisher Installation:
The U.S. Fire Administration recommends that every kitchen and laundry room has a fire extinguisher. We can install one for you.
