Protect your family and your home. With annual dryer vent maintenance you can prevent a fire hazard. Let's make safety a priority and at the same time preserve the efficiency and longevity of your dryer.
It covers the following:
The transition duct in the laundry room:
Should be UL approved, short, without sags, and have an intact seal at both ends.
The dryer vent wall inlet:
Consists of rigid metal with no rough edges and unobstructed.
If the dryer ductwork is in the attic: Consists of rigid metal with intact joints and adequate support.
The exterior dryer vent cap:
Should not be missing any components, functional and not obstructed.
The dryer outlet and lint trap:
Should be free of lint and debris.
The process of cleaning the dryer ductwork involves using a rotating brush attached with fiberglass rods to remove lint and debris.
The rotating brush is inserted into the external dryer duct opening until it reaches the inside of the laundry room and then it is cleaned from the laundry room duct to the outside. In other words, both ends of the ductwork are cleaned with the rotating brush.
The transition duct and the exterior dryer vent cap are properly reinstalled after the cleaning. If no repairs are necessary, the whole process takes about an hour.
